The Federation sponsors a national conference each year for genealogists of all levels of experience. The conferences spotlight:

• "Focus on Societies" for organizational leadership training.
• Genealogical lectures by nationally recognized speakers and regional experts.
• Exhibitors providing access to genealogical materials and supplies.

Those who wish to submit proposals for future FGS conferences are encouraged to review the FGS Speaker Policy.

Syllabi Index
In November 1992, Joy Reisinger of Sparta, Wisconsin began work on an index to the publications (the programs and syllabi) for the annual conference of the National Genealogical Society (NGS) and the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS). In 1993 the organizations published the results of her work. After the Index to NGS and FGS Conferences and Syllabi was published, she continued her work with the FGS and NGS conferences and added some other conferences to her database as well.
