Vital Records being compiled after cyclone Heta destruction

Hard copies of vital records and genealogies, used to determine property rights, were damaged or destroyed by sea water in January when New Zealand was hit by cyclone Heta. The records are being restored from copies in the Salt Lake City archives of the Mormon Church.
