23 January 2006 – New Hampshire HB1382

HB1382 prohibits a public or private entity from using nonpublic personal information about an individual for any reason without the individual's consent. The bill defines the term "individual" to mean a human being, including a deceased human being, and further defines the term "nonpublic personal information" as personal information that has not been made available to the public by or with the consent of the individual to whom it relates.

This bill should be opposed by the genealogical community. Contact your representative opposing HB1382.
